AVRO Lancaster PA474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is one of only two airworthy Lancaster's left flying in the world today. Built at Broughton in 1945 and was due to be part of the Tiger Force in the Far East. She never saw service and at the end of the war was placed into storage. In 1973 she was transferred to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and today is the jewel in the Flight's crown, She flies in memory of the 55,573 men and women of Bomber Command who made the ultimate sacrifice.
